After one year of
serving as assistant coach in 2006 at the
University of Central Florida, David is excited to once again be
a part of the UCF Wrestling team. David is a 4X Florida state
place winner, and a 4X NCWA All-American finishing 3rd,
2nd, 2nd, and 4th at the 125
lbs. and 133 lbs. weight classes. Before finishing his
eligibility in 2005, David was a member of the 2X back-to-back
national championship team. David will bring an abundance of
knowledge to the team, as he was a particularly technical
wrestler and believes that maintaining dominance through
controlled chaos and sound technical skill are essential for
becoming a great college level wrestler. David went to high
school in LaBelle, Florida where he was a team captain on the
wrestling team. And held the position of captain on the UCF
Wrestling team his senior year.
While he was wrestling at UCF, David completed his Bachelor’s
degree in English literature. He helped coach the team before
enlisting in the United States Army. In September of 2009, he
received an Honorable discharge and returned to Orlando with
hopes of becoming a teacher in the area so that he can continue
coaching the UCF Wrestling team.
