Since the 2001 revival of collegiate wrestling at UCF, Rouse's teams have won two national championships and finished in the top 10 every year.

| Johnny Rouse, a 1972 graduate of UCF has been
coaching wrestling for 30 years at the junior high, high school, and college
level. A member of four Halls of Fame, Coach Rouse has been awarded the
"Lifetime of Service to Wrestling" commendation by the National Wrestling
Hall of Fame. During his coaching career Coach Rouse's teams have won 325
team competitions, and Coach Rouse has twice been named "National Collegiate
Wrestling Association Coach of the Year."
